13th Reading Session
‘Even if I fail, I want to know how close I am to the finish line.’ The lychee of Chang’an shared by teacher Yang Chun left a deep impression on the teachers.
To start with, Lychee of Chang’an is a novel that skillfully combines real history with fiction, whose author Ma Boyong uses a unique and refined style of writing to make people feel like being in the Tang Dynasty and feel the atmosphere of that era.
To be concrete, the book’s main character, Li Shande, was forced to take on the task of transporting fresh lychees from Guangdong Province to Chang’an, a difficult journey spanning five thousand li, during which he tried to escape, only to find that all that was left for him was a fight to the death. Finally, it was the power of faith that let him break through the difficulties and find a way out of life.
To recap, we should never give up. Lychee of Chang’an is like an apocalypse about life philosophy, which inspires us that no matter what kind of predicament we are in, we should strive hard in the face of adversity and guard our original aspiration, because only by doing our best can we have a clear conscience!
